Shop RidesGroup Philosophy
• Our groups should ride safely and efficiently
• We do not knowingly leave people behind
• The rides should be fun but challenging
• Although the rides are run by the shop, they are your rides. Please take ownership (help when required and follow the group guidelines, etc.)
• Every person must carry their own spare tubes and every person should carry a mobile phone to call for help if they have any issues.

Punctures & Mechanical Issues
If an individual has a mechanical issue or a puncture that cannot be fixed quickly (less than a minute), one person should wait with the individual to help them – the whole group must not stop. There could be multiple punctures in one group ride and every stop can add more than 5 minutes to the ride – most people have time constraints so we cannot make the whole group keep waiting. The rest of the group should continue the normal ride at the normal speed. We suggest considering taking shortcuts to rejoin the group as required.

Ride Speeds
- When riding in the group you have chosen, there is a published speed guideline for the group to ride at. This is an average speed so there will be times when the group is faster and slower than this but over the full distance, the group needs to try and stick to the published average.
- If you ride in a group that has a published speed lower than the speed you usually ride at, please abide by the lower speed. If you surge off the front, you ruin the ride for the other people in the group.
- Please be realistic when deciding what group you are going to ride in. If you choose a group that is too fast for you, you slow down the whole group and can ruin the ride for everyone.

Points Along the Ride
- All the rides have got designated sprint points and stopping/consolidation points.
- Please ride consistently with the group until the sprint point.
- The leaders of the group will monitor progress and will indicate the group to stop or slow at times to regroup.
- The group should stop at the end of the sprint point as this is the place where the group will definitely spread out.

Riding Etiquette
- When riding in a group, make sure that you indicate clearly what you are doing (e.g. slowing or stopping) and make sure that you clearly indicate obstacles in the road so allow the group to avoid them.
- Make sure your front and rear lights are set to a solid beam when riding in a group.

Our Rides
The different rides
There are a number of different rides we do each week. The Saturday Morning Rides are hosted by the shop, the rest are run by our awesome community.
Safety
Each ride is designed to travel on relatively safe roads and to offer a variety of hills and fast sections.
Variety
We try to keep things interesting by organizing a variety of routes for each group.
Things you need to do
Learn the routes
Please try and take note of the ride names and carefully examine the route you are riding, which will be posted on the Bike Force Joondalup Riding Group. It is important to know where you are going for safety reasons.
We highly recommend loading the routes onto your bike computer.
Gear up
Make sure you're carrying sufficient hydration and you are carrying spare tubes and a method of inflation in case of a puncture.
Wear a helmet
Safety is important and accidents happen. If you want to join our groups, you must wear a helmet.
