The BYK E450 Girls Mountain Bike is designed for 6 to 9 year olds, or with a height range of 115cm to 145cm. It is the perfect bike for an adventurous rider who has developed some skill and wants to have fun riding dirt trails, riding to school, or just mucking about with mates in the 'hood. It has the smart quality MicroSHIFT 8 speed gears which shift crisply and efficiently so that they can ride on any terrain with ease. BYK makes the lightest kids bikes on the market and this model weighs just under 10 kilos, and has a really comfortable set up making this a wickedly fun, fast bike to ride.

We have weighed every single component, measured to a millimeter the geometry and ergonomics and tested on every trail we could find. Our long list of premium components is outstanding.

We have broadened the range of our world class Microshift X4 cassette gears to 8 speed. We have designed our off-road compatible rigid forks to be compliant and absorbing yet offer handling characteristics that cater for enthusiastic riders. Plus with the great weight savings over comparable bike sizes with clunky suspension offerings, the advantages to the rider of all levels is truly enhanced.

You'll also see we've increased the power of our V brakes to match the performance of many disc brakes down hill but at the same time saved a huge amount of weight so the rider can get up and over hills too. We have strengthened our wheels, used extra grip lightweight tyres, an ergonomic saddle and customised our unique V bars for off-road fun.

To make a children's bike safe, the rider needs to be able to brake efficiently and confidently. The custom-sized V-Brakes we have used are calibrated for age, ability and ergonomic fit. And they are made of non-flexing, strong and light alloy. Our light weight alloy rims ensure pedalling is easier. But more importantly alloy rims are a more efficient braking surface than cheaper, chrome-plated steel rims, and are therefore safer.
