Description

The Spyke 24 SE is the perfect Youth mountain bike to get your kid riding trails in no time. It has big tyres, suspension fork and great geometry. This bike is suitable for riding trails, street, your local pump track or even to school and back. Featuring a Suntour 50mm suspension fork, 8-speed Shimano drivetrain, big tyres, alloy wheels, and disc brakes, the Spyke 24 SE boasts a low standover frame design with alloy components and Best In Class pedigree.

Mechanically-formed 6061 Alloy Frame

Spyke 24 SE features a frame optimized for young riders. Trickle-down technology means that the new frame benefits from our leading platforms' design advances. The alloy frame tubes are mechanically formed into complex shapes to increase strength and stiffness, minimizing weight and excess material use, resulting in a lighter weight frame and thus a lighter complete bike.

Easy Ride Geometry

Geometry on our kids bicycles are designed to improve balance and comfort moving the rider in a more natural feeling position. With better balance and more comfort, confidence is improved. This makes for swift riding progression.

Chainguard

The chainguard completely covers the front chainring. This keeps your kid clean and hands and feet from potential hazards.

Fender Mounts

The frame features mounting points for fenders.

Higher Volume Tyres

Spyke SE is designed to easily fit higher volume 24" x 2.35" tyres with plenty of mud clearance. Bigger tyres can increase the contact area and thus ride comfort, control and grip.

Kickstand and Mount

There is an integrated kickstand mount. Spyke 24 SE comes fitted with a kickstand!

Spyke Saddle

The new Spyke saddle is manufactured to be durable suiting the paintjob on the Spyke and good looking, comfortable & to fit a junior rider's body.

Mechanically-Formed 6061 Alloy Frame

Spyke features a brand new frame for young riders. Trickle-down technology means that the new frame benefits from our leading platforms. The frame tubes are mechanically formed into complex shapes to increase strength and stiffness, minimizing weight and excess material use. Spyke features a 1-1/8" headtube.

Size Specific Contact Points

Spyke is finished with a kid's specific saddle, smaller, narrower bars, smaller diameter grips, reach-adjustable brake and a shorter crankset with smaller pedals - all to suit smaller riders perfectly.

Super Low Standover

Lower standover means that the Spyke can be ridden by both male and female riders with more room for movement. This improves control and confidence on technical sections.

Hydraulic Disc Brakes

Spyke 24 SE comes with hydraulic disc brakes. Disc brakes offer dependable all-weather performance over rim brakes and the lever pull is light for young riders. Levers are reach adjustable for smaller hands.

1X Geared Drivetrain

Spyke 24 SE features a Shimano Tourney 1x  geared drivetrain. The single chainring up front with a trigger shifter makes the gears intuitive and easy to use and the gears gives young legs a bit of help on climbs.

Suspension Fork

The lightly sprung Suntour XCT 50mm Suspension fork is ample for smaller riders, smoothing out uneven terrain as well as improving grip adding loads to the fun factor on bumpy trails or jumps. Who doesn't like a suspension fork?!

Why It's Best?

  • Easy ride geometry - improved balance and comfort makes for quicker ride progression.
  • Lightweight mechanically formed alloy frame makes for a lighter complete bike.
  • And smaller frame tubes is easier to grab with small hands.
  • Lightly sprung Suntour suspension fork takes the harshness out of rough terrain.
  • Uncomplicated Shimano 1x geared drivetrain is perfect for youngsters learning to use gears.
  • Integrated kickstand, no need to buy additional accessories.
  • Low standover makes the bike easier to mount, and stand over. This improves confidence and progresses riding quicker.
